Two good sized, Lovely specimens, one of the pyritised ammonite Quenstedtoceras lamberti from the Jurassic Oxford Clay, Lamberti zone, near Weymouth in Dorset (the smaller of the two) Approximately 160 million years old. This is from the famous locality at Tidmoor point where it’s almost impossible to find decent specimens anymore.
The larger is Harpoceras falciferum from the Middle Lias of Ilminster in Somerset about 180 million years old.
These have not been prepped and are ‘as found’ in the late 1970s.
The pyritised ammonite is beautifully preserved and in excellent condition with the sutures clearly visible.
Grab these while you can!
Scale cube is 1cm.
I’m happy to combine postage.
