U.S. Model 1855 Colt Revolving Rifle S&K Saber Bayonet aka Brazil & UK Navy EFD For Sale

This bayonet was originally made to fit the Brazilian Naval Rifle (almost identical to the British P1856 Sergeant\'s Rifle, made in Liege, Belgium; and the Import English Sea Service Enfield Rifle); this piece was also believed to be sold for the US Model 1855 Colt Revolving Artillery Carbine.This sword bayonet measures 27.5\" overall with a blade length of 22.75\". The blade is very good with some age wear, patina spots with much original finish. The left side of the blade shows a scattered dark spot with scattered pitting in it, 2\" away from the end of the fuller. The ricasso area of the blade shows \"S&K\" markings (Schnitzler & Kirshbaum), the opposite side, guard shows a Anchor Naval cartouche Top of handle inside the slot is stamped, \"51\", the left side of the pommel stamped, \"J.I. 73\". \"L\" stamped on top of the guard, also.
