US Indian Wars Government Issued 1880's Tin Cup Mug Stamped M N G Michigan RARE For Sale

You are offerding on a Antique Michigan National guard issued 1880's  tin / metal cup/ mug. This item is from my personal collection ( picture #2).  Most times on this item is described as a civil war cup and they are not. All the cups with the U.S mark on the handle are the general issued cup after the civil war. This same cup was issued by several states national guards. This cup was issued at some point after 1880 but I have never found the exact date. This cup is stamped on the handle M.G.P. ( national guard Michigan) . You will see on 100 to 300 of the cups with just the common U.S. marked on the handle before you see one with the national guard marks. This cup was issued in the late 1880's but I am not sure just when as is is a very rare experimental variety ( so called soup can). I purchased this cup over 30 years ago and have never seen another one. This model is a inch taller and 3/4 inches wider than the base model 1874 cups. The handle is also different. I believe this cup was at some point was in a trash pit or just stored in properly as it has a small hole on the side, also the overall metal is a bit thinner. I will be listing several cups issued by individual states . These state issued cup are far more rare. I have seen the following state cups Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, new York, Michigan Maine Minnesota ( hard to know as the stamp on the handle is MNG) and will be listing them soon.
