This is an original WWII-era aircraft recognition (ID) model issued by the U.S. Army Air Forces for training andidentification purposes. These models were utilized to help aircrew and groundpersonnel quickly recognize both friendly and enemy aircraft silhouettes—acritical skill during wartime operations.
The model represents the Italian twin-engine bomber Fiat BR.20, designated here as T-98 AHB, and isclearly marked with a June 1942 production date. Constructed in 1/72 scale, themodel features a wingspan of approximately 12 inches, making it a substantialand highly displayable example.
Condition is very good overall, especially for these often-fragile trainingaids. The model shows no signs of the common issues such as warping, melting,or deterioration, and it remains free of any unpleasant odors. Importantly, thetail section still retains its original supporting struts—components that arefrequently missing or damaged—adding significantly to its completeness andcollector value.
