VERY RARE 1900-1910 Spanish Bookstore Vintage Pinback Button 1.0\", San Antonio:
$175.00

Extremely RARE Find
Historical Info:

Front

A stock illustration of a young girl in a wide bonnet and long dress, standing between a basket and a flower on a stalk — a generic \"little girl\" motif that celluloid novelty companies mass-produced and sold blank to local businesses, who then had their own advertising printed or stamped onto the back. This kind of cute/sentimental stock imagery (children, flowers, animals) was extremely common on early 1900s advertising giveaways because it made the pin something a customer would actually want to wear, unlike a plain text ad.

Back
Stamped: \"Libreria de Quiroga, 712 Dolorosa St., San Antonio, Texas.\" (\"Libreria\" = bookstore/bookshop in Spanish.) This places the pin squarely in San Antonio\'s historic Mexican-American West Side business district. Dolorosa Street, right around the Laredo/Dolorosa intersection, was a known center of Spanish-language printing, publishing, and bookselling in the early 1900s — other documented booksellers/publishers operated on that very street in this period. A pin like this would have been a give-away from a Mexican-American-owned bookstore serving San Antonio\'s Spanish-speaking community, likely dating to roughly 1900s–1910s, the same era as the printing/bookseller boom on that street. This is a hyper-local, small-business piece tied to a specific address and a specific ethnic-commercial community — that combination (small print run, tied to a documented but not super-famous business, regional Hispanic/Tejano history angle) actually makes it very scarce
