VINTAGE HAZEL-ATLAS DIAMOND & RIBBED SQUARE GLASS CANISTER #5429 For Sale

Offered today is a square glass lidded canister made by Hazel-Atlas.The Hazel-Atlas 5429 is specifically identified as a mid-20th-century \"coffee packer\" jar. These heavy, clear glass utility jars were manufactured by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company to hold bulk commercial goods like coffee (such as Radiant Roast Coffee) before being repurposed by homemakers as pantry canisters.This clear glass canister is 8-1/2\" high with a width of 5\", and a capacity for approximately 3 lbs of coffee. Three sides are embossed with large diamonds and surrounded by ribbing at top and bottom. The fourth side has ribbing top and bottom, but a large square area where a label would have been attached. The canister is in great shape; the lid was originally white, but showing some abrasions and loss of paint.
