VINTAGE & RARE Handmade Handcrafted 7\" Navajo Pot Wedding Vase w/Twisted Handle
*The vase was made using traditional methods, including clay from Black Mesa and outdoor firing.*The brown color and sheen are a result of a pine pitch coating applied to seal the pottery. As Navajo pottery was traditionally used in cooking, items used for water storage were covered with pine pitch, both inside & out, so it would remain waterproof. See last photo for a glimpse of pine pitch coating on the interior.*The dark, cloudy marks, known as \"fire clouds,\" are created during the open-pit firing process.*The vase features two spouts with an intertwined handle, a traditional form in Puebloan and Navajo cultures.*Unsigned
