Original vintage Schlitz Beer back bar / countertop advertising display, dating to roughly the 1940s. It features the classic “Just the Kiss of the Hops” slogan, a blonde woman pictured beside the large Schlitz logo, and “The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous” across the front of the base.
Measures approximately 9” wide x 5” tall x 3” deep.
This is a nicely made layered display with quite a bit of dimension to it. The back is factory marked:
FORM 365
MADE IN U.S.A.
JOS. SCHLITZ BREWING COMPANY – MILWAUKEE, WIS.
K.C.S. Co., Milwaukee, Wis.
Judging by the graphics, slogan and construction, I believe this dates to the early-to-mid 1940s.
I did quite a bit of searching and was unable to find another example of this exact Form 365 display, so it appears to be a fairly scarce piece.
Condition is good for its age, but it does show wear. There is edge and surface wear along with some chipping and loss, mainly around the upper edges and corners. I have included close-up photos of these areas. The main graphics are still strong and it displays very well.
Please look through all of the photos closely for the best description of condition.
A neat early Schlitz piece and one that would be hard to upgrade or replace if you are putting together a serious Schlitz or breweriana collection.
Comes from a clean and smoke-free environment.
