Vintage 1986 hand-painted ceramic deviled egg platter, produced from a ceramic mold and individually decorated and glazed.
Features a wonderful dimensional woven basket design in brown with an aqua/turquoise cloth draped over the basket. Molded basket-style handles are incorporated at each end. The platter has 18 recessed egg wells for serving deviled eggs.
The underside is inscribed “M.R. ’86,” believed to represent the initials of the person who painted/finished the piece and the year 1986. No identifiable mold manufacturer is visible, so the maker is listed as unknown.
Measures approximately 11” across the body and about 13” overall including the handles.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with areas of glaze loss/chipping along several of the lower aqua edges, as clearly shown in the photos. There may also be minor glaze and firing irregularities consistent with a molded, individually finished ceramic piece. Please review photos carefully.
