Up for your consideration is an incredibly unique, rare vintage mid-century modern novelty tea towel. This is an unused, unwashed New Old Stock piece that features a wonderfully chaotic, funny comic-strip style kitchen disaster illustration populated by whimsical & retro characters and rendered in exceptionally vibrant primary colors.When unfolded, the towel measures approximately 22 inches wide by 32 inches long, which is the classic oversized vintage linen footprint. It is made of 100 percent pure linen and is stamped Fast Colours and Made in Ireland directly on the fabric borders.This ultra-kitsch towel is styled exactly like a classic 1950s Sunday newspaper comic strip or a retro gag cartoon. It features a wonderfully chaotic, busy domestic scene with a vintage atomic housewife standing frozen in utter shock with empty hands raised in the air, while her husband is blasted entirely off balance atop a green stepladder. condition, this towel is in unused, unwashed New Old Stock condition and still retains its rare, original paper factory stock retail tag on the hem showing the lot number and original price. Because it has been safely stored folded flat in a storage chest for decades, it shows mild, completely natural storage age toning or foxing, which appears as light yellowing lines where it was folded. There is also one speck near the lower hem edge, which I have shown in the close-up photos. This is a standard badge of authenticity for genuine deadstock textiles.
