Vintage Japanese coffee set.
Includes 5 plates (each approximately 6" in diameter), 5 small mugs (each approximately 2.5" tall), plus the original box and lid.
White porcelain material with hand-painted floral motifs in blue, red, and gold.
The marks on the bottom indicate the Koransha maker's mark from Arita, Japan.
The former owner was born in 1924 and immigrated to the US from Japan in the 1960s when she married an American. She likely brought this with her then, as a wedding gift and / or departure gift. She never traveled back to her home country.
Pre-owned. No chips, cracks or crazing. The storage box shows significant wear, including tears and black ink writing indicating "COFFEE."
