The courting couple are in the Victorian / Colonial Era (1830-1890). Not to be confused these pieces were manufactured in the mid 20th century (1930-1940) it is the artwork that is stylized. Perfect example of Art Deco / Mid Century Modern. And the theme....Just romantic... These were recessed painted glass silhouette over lithograph background. While these pieces are unbranded they are the exact style of Reliance Picture Frame Co. Benton Glass, or Morris & Bendien. The highly romanticized Victorian \"Courting\" scenes were very popular during the World War II era as a form of tradition, comforting home nostalgia. These measure 5 9nches by 4 inches
