VTG Tohono O'odham Papago Arizona 8x1.75” Hand Woven Native Prepared Natural Materials Basket by Nancy Lopez 1940-2022. Lopez was a prominent weaver for the Tohano O’odham Nation. Finely and tightly woven. In excellent used condition and was protected under wrap. It maintains the original color without visible signs of aging. Imperfections common with native basketry such as exposed threads of material and split grass are noted. The artist took pride in their work. The original tag is on the underside signed by the artist. See photos for details.
