Vintage U.S. Metal Toy Mfg. Co. Tin Litho Ratchet Noisemaker – Working – Made in USAColorful vintage lithographed tin ratchet noisemaker made by U.S. Metal Toy Mfg. Co., N.Y., and marked Made in U.S.A.This piece features wonderful all-over party graphics with dancers, musicians, balloons, streamers, horns, party hats, and other celebration imagery in bright red, blue, yellow, green, and black. It has an original turned wooden handle and exposed internal ratchet mechanism.The noisemaker has been tested and is working properly. When operated, the ratchet mechanism functions and produces the expected noise.Believed to date to approximately the 1940s–1950s.The piece remains very attractive overall, with strong color and appealing period graphics. It shows normal age-related wear consistent with a vintage tin toy, including scattered scratches and scuffs, edge wear, small areas of lithograph loss, light oxidation, and general handling wear.
