VTG Unbranded Harley Davidson Replica Of An early 1900s Era Board Racer 14.5 \" For Sale

Up for sale is an unbranded 14.5 " Harley -Davidson Board Track Racer that celebrates the legendary "Golden Age" of Motordrome racing. It perfectly captures the terrifyingly minimalist high speed machines that thundered around high banked wooden tracks at speeds of over 100 mph. The aggressively dropped down handlebars allowed riders to tuck down low out of the wind. There is no headlight because no headlight was needed for the racers . Neither of course were heavy fenders. These racers were designed to be light weight.

Interesting story the bike leaked castor oil on to the wood while racing making the wood tracks extremely slick. The racers would crash and be full of wood splinters .

The races were eventually banned.

We purchased this at a collectors estate sale. This was among many of his other collections including other highly collectible motorcycles , cars and riding gear. We do not know much about bikes like the collector did, but the beauty of this bike caught my eye. Hope it finds a good home.

This will be carefully wrapped it's in excellent shape.
