This is an original vintage Real Photo Postcard featuring a fascinating early 20th-century group portrait of an all-male amateur theater cast or variety show production.
The image depicts a large gathering of young men posed in a staged indoor setting. Notably, the central figure in the ornate, high-collared lace dress and necklace is a male cast member in theatrical cross-dress. The group features several other distinct characters, including a man in a white Pierrot or clown costume, an individual in a top hat, a character actor wearing wire-rimmed spectacles, and a small dog sitting in the lap of a man in the front row.
The reverse of the card features an AZO stamp box with all four triangles pointing up, firmly dating this photograph to the 1904–1918 era.
