Up for sale/sale is a beautiful, authentic 100+ year-old original 1918 promotional wall calendar. This rare piece of advertising ephemera was issued by J.B. Caldon, a General Agent for the Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. based out of Concord, New Hampshire.Artwork & Design:
The top portion features a stunning, colorful Art Nouveau illustration of Old Mother Goose riding her gander over a fairy tale landscape. The artwork is by renowned historical illustrator Ilse Breit, printed by Frick & Allis Co. The border is intricately decorated with stylized mice and floral elements, typical of the era's design aesthetic.It includes a poetic verse at the top and a striking motivational quote about time and opportunity in the center:"Sometime" is the meanest word in our language; it is the thief of Time and the pickpocket of Opportunity... • Overall State: Excellent antique condition for a piece of paper ephemera over a century old.
