The Fisk Rubber Company made automobile tires and accessories in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, beginning in the late nineteenth century. These playing cards were produced as promotional advertising items during the 1920s to promote their brand loyalty among motorists. They were printed by major playing card manufacturers using high-quality lithography to faithfully reproduce the company's famous corporate artwork.

Motorists and travelers used these cards for entertainment during long road trips and evening leisure in hotels or homes. They were distributed through authorized tire dealers and promotional mail-in offers as a tangible reminder of the brand's reliability. As corporate advertising shifted toward radio and large billboards in the middle decades of the twentieth century, promotional playing cards were gradually phased out.
