A charming \"Christmas Greetings\" rebus/puzzle postcard published by Whitney Made of Worcester, Massachusetts — a well-known holiday postcard house active in the early 20th century. The front shows a young girl in a blue dress curled up on a window seat with a picture book, a Christmas rhyme running below in rebus form (small pictures standing in for key words — Santa, a tree, a stocking, a moon).
The reverse carries the classic Whitney divided-back \"Post Card\" imprint with laurel wreath design. It\'s unposted — no stamp, no postmark — but it was penned as a keepsake, inscribed in period handwriting: \"Ruth M. Porter, Dec 25 - 1924,\" dating this card firmly to Christmas 1924.
Condition: Unposted/unused. Light overall toning and a few small age spots to the front and back consistent with a century of storage; corners and edges are clean with no creases or tears. A lovely display piece or addition to a rebus/puzzle postcard collection.
