Exceptionally well-crafted art metal figurine of a smiling portly Masonic Shriner wearing a Fez embossed with the Shriner's emblem (scimitar, crescent and star), made by the American Art Works Company of Coshocton, Ohio in the 1920's -30's.
This portly Shriner with an amiable smile is depicted holding the lapels of his open coat. It's cast in spelter metal with top notch sculptural detail, typical of early art metal castings. The base has two holes that once held an ID plaque which is now missing. The back is inscribed by the manufacturer "AMERICAN ART WORKS INC. - COSHOCTON, OHIO".
It stands almost 5" tall by 2.75" wide by 2.25" deep, and weighs 1 lb.
It's in very good condition with no cracks or breaks and just has some age-appropriate finish wear. A must have for any Shriner or art metal paperweight collection.
