Vintage 1930s Art Deco Flying Bird / Falcon Radiator Hood Ornament – Rare Large 7"
Strikingvintage 1930s Art Deco flying bird radiator/hood ornament, featuring an exceptionally streamlined design with a long, nearly horizontal ribbed wing, small falcon/eagle-style head, and dramatic diagonal body supports.
This is an unusually substantial ornament measuring approximately7.01" long × 2.93" high. The large streamlined teardrop-shaped mounting base measures approximately4.50" long × 2.95" wide.
The design incorporatesfour/five long parallel wing ribs, a sharply streamlined bird profile, and an integrated radiator-cap style mounting assembly underneath. The underside shows considerable age and oxidation consistent with an early automotive component, while the exterior retains attractive bright plating with age-related wear and fine pitting.
Research suggests the design is from theearly-to-mid 1930sand has characteristics seen in period GM/Ternstedt and other accessory radiator ornaments. The exact manufacturer, automobile application, and originality have not been conclusively identified, so it is being offered as an unidentified period-style automotive mascot rather than attributed to a specific make or model.
