Description
Strikingvintage Art Deco stork/bird radiator-cap mascot, believed to date from approximately the1930s automobile era.
This unusual ornament has a dramatic streamlined design featuring along pointed beak, curved neck, one exceptionally tall upright wing and a second long wing swept backward. The bird is mounted on a pedestal above a decorative scalloped-edge radiator cap.
The ornament has a beautiful period Art Deco appearance and makes an impressive display piece.
The exactmanufacturer, automobile make, model and year have not been identified, and no unverified vehicle attribution is being made. It may have been sold as a period aftermarket/accessory radiator mascot.
Condition
Good antique display condition with considerable age-related character. The metal finish showsoxidation, tarnishing, plating loss, pitting, scratches, discoloration and general surface wear. There are imperfections consistent with an old automobile ornament.
