Vintage 1940s Atlas Bantam 5¢ Peanut Vending Machine Glass Globe Working.
DESCRIPTION
Original vintage circa-1940s Atlas Bantam five-cent countertop peanut or candy vending machine.
This attractive commercial vending machine features a cast-aluminum body, large molded glass globe, red painted accents, black “THANK YOU” dispensing chute and Interstate Vending Co. “Insert Nickel Coin Only” decal. Patent/design number D152883 appears on the top.
The nickel-operated mechanism has been tested and is working. No key is included. Because the key is missing, the lid and internal coin compartment cannot be opened and have not been inspected.
The separate decorative silver-tone serving tray shown in the photographs is included, but it is not represented as original equipment for the machine.
A wonderful original display piece for a general store, soda fountain, diner, game room, advertising or coin-operated vending collection.
CONDITION
Vintage pre-owned condition with surface scratches, scuffs, oxidation, finish wear, dust and age-related discoloration. The red painted accents and front decal show wear. Some residue and minor surface corrosion are visible inside the globe area.
The glass globe appears intact without an obvious crack but has scratches, cloudiness and normal age wear. The nickel mechanism is working.
No key is included. The lid, lock and coin compartment have not been opened or internally inspected. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
