Vintage Federal Warehouse Embossed Metal Sign
Original vintage embossed metal sign reading:
“Federal Warehouse — Licensed and Bonded Under the U.S. Warehouse Act.”
This uncommon agricultural and industrial sign would originally have identified a warehouse operating under the federal United States Warehouse Act licensing and bonding program. The sign features raised cobalt-blue lettering and a raised blue border against a cream-colored background.
It measures approximately 18 × 24 inches and retains all four original mounting holes. It has substantial authentic surface wear, including scratches, paint loss, edge wear, weathering and oxidation consistent with many years of outdoor or industrial use. The lettering remains bold, complete and very easy to read.
Believed to date from approximately the 1940s–1950s. An excellent piece of agricultural, grain-elevator, cotton-warehouse, government or industrial Americana décor.
Please examine all photographs carefully. The sign is sold in its current vintage condition and has not been repainted or restored.
