This listing is a vintage 1943 Jos. A. Finch & Co. "Golden Wedding" whiskey bottle featuring iridescent marigold carnival glass and an embossed wedding bell design with federal prohibition-era warning text.

Iridescent amber/marigold carnival glass.

Embossed with a large wedding bell and the mandatory federal warning text "Federal Law Foroffers Sale or Re-use of This Bottle".

In good vintage condition. Some signs of use and age to be expected. Some coloring on front. Blue appears to be a worn sticker or logo that was on the front. Red was maybe the wax seal? Small surface scratches but no chips or crack. See photos

Deciphering the Codes:

D230 (DistILLER PERMIT NUMBER): This is a mandatory federal liquor code. D-230 specifically indicates the Jos. A. Finch & Co. distillery (owned by Schenley Distillers).

<I> inside an Oval (GLASS MANUFACTURER): This logo (an 'I' inside an oval or a diamond-and-oval shape) is the hallmark trademark for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company.

12 - 3 (DATE & PLANT CODE):The number to the left of the logo (12) designates Owens-Illinois Plant #12, which was located in Gas City, Indiana.

The single digit to the right (3) stands for the year. Combined with the style of the bottle and the prohibition-era warning on the front, this pinpoints the manufacturing year to 1943.

M161A (MOLD CODE): This is the proprietary factory catalog mold number used by the manufacturer to produce this specific shape and decorative pattern.

Weighs 15.4 oz

Measures 7 3/4 in tall x 4 in wide x 1 3/4 in deep
