This is an authentic German steel playground regulations sign issued by a local authority (Die Ortspolizeibehörde).
Sign Text:
"Spielplatz für Kinder unter 12 Jahren" - (Playground for children under 12 years of age)
"Nicht erlaubt sind:" - (The following are not allowed:)
[Pictograms: picking flowers, riding a bike, dogs running free, playing "ball" games near the ground, & playing hand sports/basketball]
"Benutzung nur bis Sonnenuntergang und auf eigene Gefahr unter Haftung der Erziehungsberechtigten." (Use permitted only until sunset and at your own risk under the liability of parents or legal guardians).
"Die Ortspolizeibehörde" (The Local Police Authority)
It features a slightly curved (domed) geometry and stenciled structural relief layers for the lettering. These signs (& enameled) were the gold standard for outdoor durability in Germany from the early 20th century up until the 1970s, when municipalities broadly transitioned to cheaper, flat sheet aluminum covered with reflective plastic foils. The natural edge chipping and structural weathering visible around the mounting holes perfectly match a heavy steel plate that has spent decades outdoors.
