Up for sale is a magnificent piece of mid-century Americana—a 1954 Lane & Co. Ceramic Mallard Duck TV Lamp and Planter, made in Los Angeles, California. It features a beautifully sculpted mallard drake taking flight from a reed-textured trough base. The multi-colored gloss glaze remains incredibly vibrant with excellent coverage and no major flaws.True Time-Capsule Condition:
What sets this specific piece apart for serious collectors is its remarkable state of preservation:

1. Original 1950s Floral Fill Base: The planter trough still contains its original florist material, which has naturally aged into a loose, sandy texture over the past 70 years. It has never been cleared out or washed away.
2. Original 1950s Blue Bulb: It retains the authentic vintage blue light bulb, which was specifically designed in the 1950s to cast a soft, glare-reducing glow over console televisions.
3. Original Vintage Electronics & Components:
   This lamp features its original, authentic 1950s brown electrical cord and molded two-prong plug. The original black Leviton shell socket and turn-knob switch are fully intact and functional, operating smoothly. A piece of the original sticker label on the socket housing remains present. It has been tested and lights up beautifully with the included vintage blue incandescent bulb.
4. The bottom clearly shows the crisp, clean incised maker marks: \"LANE & CO. L.A. CALIF. © 1954\" on the left, and the mold number \"341\" on the right. Having these marks cleanly visible without grease, dirt, or heavy wear tells us this piece was incredibly well-preserved.
