Up for sale is a beautiful, mid-century 1955–1956 General Electric Model 678 Transistor Radio in a striking mint green/aqua housing. This historic model is highly collectible as it represents General Electric\'s very first commercially produced transistor radio line.This particular unit is an incredible \"time capsule\" find. It comes complete with a vintage Eveready Energizer No. 239 13.5V battery (found inside the unit) and its original cream-colored single earphone.
Testing Status: This item is being sold UNTESTED and strictly AS-IS for parts, restoration, or historical display. Due to the age of the components and the fact that the original 13.5V battery is long expired, it has not been powered on or functionally tested.
Battery Condition: The included Eveready No. 239 battery is dead and is included solely as a rare historical display piece. (Note: To ensure safe transit, the battery will be safely wrapped and packaged outside of the radio compartment during shipping).
