Fantastic matching pair of original 1956 Napco long-neck dog salt and pepper shakers, model A1879, made in Japan.
These wonderfully kitschy mid-century pups feature extra-long necks, floppy ears, winking faces, yellow neckties, and white golf-style caps decorated with a green plaid pattern.
Both retain their original Napco foil labels, original cork stoppers, and are marked on the bottoms NAPCO 1956 / A1879 / Dog Shaker.
Their tall, exaggerated design makes them especially fun display pieces and a great example of Napco’s whimsical 1950s figural kitchenware.
Good vintage condition with light age-related wear and minor surface imperfections consistent with pieces from 1956. Please review all photos carefully for condition and details.
A fabulous set for collectors of Napco, vintage salt and pepper shakers, anthropomorphic ceramics, mid-century kitchenware, kitsch, or vintage Japanese pottery.
