Vintage 1956 Petronella Baks Dutch Catholic Memorial Holy Card Netherlands Lambs
Brand/Publisher: Unmarked Dutch Catholic religious printer; lower front margin shows a small copyright-style symbol with code 12-1 and a tiny monogram at the right corner.
Item: Original vintage 1956 Dutch Catholic memorial holy card printed on cream cardstock for Petronella Baks, widow of Everardus van der Putten, from Haarlem in the Netherlands.
The front presents a warm brown and gold-toned illustration of two lambs drinking from stylized flowing water before a radiating sun and geometric cross-and-circle design, with a scrolling banner bearing the Dutch text HIJ HEEFT HEN GELAAFD MET HET WATER DER WIJSHEID.
The reverse side is fully printed in Dutch under a small cross and heading Gedenk in uw gebeden PETRONELLA BAKS Weduwe van EVERARDUS VAN DER PUTTEN, giving her birth in Haarlemmermeer on 22 Juli 1868, death at Haarlem on 7 Januari 1956, burial at the R.K. Kerkhof St. Barbara te Haarlem, and a devotional reflection quoting Phil. IV, 9.
Closing lines on the back include instructions for prayer for her soul, the invocations ONZE VADER — WEES GEGROET, and the phrase Zij ruste in vrede, making this a complete Dutch-language funeral remembrance card.
Approximate small card size is about 2.5 in x 4 in, as handwritten in the reference photo (no additional measurements taken); suitable for devotional use, Bible or missal keeping, or addition to a Catholic holy card or vintage Dutch religious ephemera collection.
Listing includes the single loose memorial holy card shown only; stand, background surfaces, and handwritten measurement card are not included.
Condition: Card is pre-owned and shows overall age toning, light surface soiling, and scattered small brown spots on both sides. Front image has a few tiny abrasions and a small dark mark near the lower margin, with soft edge and corner wear and mild natural waviness to the cardstock. Paper remains intact with no tears or missing pieces; all printed text and artwork are clear and fully legible, and the memorial card is loose with no sleeve, mount, or additional packaging.
