Original 1956 amateur-radio QSL confirmation card from operator Frank Carpino, call sign KN2OXI, of Jamaica, Queens, New York. The colorful orange and cream front uses a General Electric radio-log design with the slogan “From the log of” and a printed station identification block bearing the operator’s name, call sign, and Jamaica address.
The handwritten log records a February 28, 1956 CW contact with station KN2LWM. The contact began at approximately 2237 and ended at 2322, using a frequency of 7191 kc and 60 watts input power. Signal reports of 599 and 579 are entered, and the station called field appears to reference KN2LWM, with KN2LST also noted in the “called by” area.
The reverse contains a personal handwritten message to Bill explaining that this was not Frank’s direct QSO, but that operator KN2LST, identified as Steve Lynch, made the contact using Frank’s rig. Original 1960 amateur-radio QSL confirmation card from operator Howard Siegel, call sign WA2GLU, of Bayside, Queens, New York. The front features a simulated wood-grain background with bold dark-green lettering, Howard Siegel’s name and Bayside address, and two diamond-shaped ARRL emblems.
The reverse records a radio contact with station K2LWM, operated by William Kumpost of Story Avenue in the Bronx. Handwritten technical entries identify a contact dated October 2, 1960, with 21 Mc noted, an RST signal report of 587, a DX-20 transmitter operating at 75 watts input, an HQ-100C receiver, and a 40-meter dipole antenna.
