Ahoy! This peg-leg pirate comes from the 1960s West German troll and nodder craze, when Heico (Heinze & Co.) turned out wobbly-headed caricature figures with wild fiber hair and hand-painted faces. Collectors of vintage trolls, nodders and kitschy pirate décor love them, and he looks great perched on a shelf, bar cart or desk.
Soft molded vinyl/rubber body with painted details, fiber hair, an eyepatch, blue shirt, yellow trousers, one black boot and a light wooden dowel peg leg. A brass tag on a silver-tone chain around his neck reads "Original ® Western Germany." The figure weighs about 0.57 lb.
Condition: Used, good vintage condition. There is minor paint wear at the edge of the eyepatch, some rubbing and rough patches on the yellow trousers, a scuffed boot sole and dusty hair. There are no chips or cracks. The right hand ends in an open socket and no hook or accessory is included. The peg leg is a plain wooden dowel with a clean-cut end.
Please look over the photos, which are part of the description. He will be packed with care.
