Up for sale is a beautiful, collector-grade original public passenger timetable issued by the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company, famously known as the Red Arrow Lines.
Effective exactly on January 31, 1964, this highly significant historical document was published just five days after the legendary, ultra-modern
"Liberty Liners" made their official inaugural runs on the Norristown High-Speed Line corridor.
The timetable details the rapid transit service running between the primary hub at the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby and the Norristown terminus in Montgomery County. The interior includes a comprehensive schematic route map noting 22 intermediate stations through Philadelphia's historic Main Line suburbs
- including stops in Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Villanova. Crucially for historians and variant collectors, the weekday and weekend schedule grids explicitly designate trips operated by the newly introduced articulated trainsets with a bold "LL" (Liberty Liner) marking, alongside standard "EX" (Express) runs.
These luxurious, air-conditioned trains were famously acquired from the newly abandoned Chicago North Shore Line (where they originally ran as the Electroliners), refurbished, and re-outfitted with a refreshing tavern-lounge car serving breakfast and light snacks to Philadelphia-area commuters.
