There is somethingwonderfully innocent about this one. A young girl in a delicately painteddress, striped stockings and floral hair decoration gently holds an unusuallycooperative white kitten against her skirt. From the tiny flowers scatteredacross the grassy base to the cat's green eyes and the girl's softly paintedface, this is exactly the sort of detail that made these mid-century Goebelfigures so charming.

The delicate projecting elements—the kitten, hands, flowers andgirl's hair decoration—remain intact, and the glaze retains a lovely brightgloss. I find no chips, cracks or repairs in my inspection.
The underside tellsan important part of the story and has been photographed closely rather thanhidden: the incised 214/A mold designation, handwritten productionmarking and blue Goebel factory stamp remain present. Some light age-relateddiscoloration and handling evidence can also be seen around the underside/base.
Whether collectedspecifically as Goebel Blumenkinder, Lore Blokker work, vintage WestGerman porcelain, cat-themed figurines or simply because this little girl andher kitten are ridiculously charming, this is a particularly displayableexample.
