Vintage 1968 Israeli Judaica Siddur Prayer Book – Ornate Metal Binding
Beautiful vintage Siddur Avodat Israel with English Translation, printed in Israel in 1968 by Sinai Publishing, Tel Aviv.
This compact Jewish prayer book features an exceptionally decorative silver-tone metal binding with raised Judaic imagery and turquoise-colored cabochon accents.
The front cover features the Ten Commandments tablets with Stars of David, topped by a crown and surrounded by ornate floral decoration and turquoise-colored stones.
The reverse is richly decorated with symbols representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel surrounding an architectural depiction of Jerusalem. The spine features additional raised Judaic motifs, including a menorah.
The prayer book contains Hebrew text with English translation and includes daily prayers, Sabbath services, Kiddush, Yizkor/Memorial Service, festival prayers, Chanukah, Purim, Grace After Meals and Mourner’s Kaddish.

Condition:
Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear, oxidation/patina and discoloration to the metal binding. Some age-related wear/fraying is present around the attachment of the book to the metal case. Pages show normal age toning. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
Metal/material note: No silver purity hallmark was found. The metal binding is therefore described conservatively as silver-tone metal/aluminum, and the turquoise-colored cabochons have not been gemologically tested.
