Lot of four original vintage Honolulu, Hawaii tourism and entertainment brochures, dating from the 1970s era. A colorful group documenting Waikiki and Honolulu dining, hotel entertainment, luaus and visitor attractions.
Included are:
Al Harrington’s Polynesia – Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Room brochure advertising “Hawaii Five-O’s Ben Kokua in Person.” Harrington portrayed Ben Kokua on the original Hawaii Five-O television series. The brochure advertises his Polynesian stage show, dinner package and appearances at the Tapa Room.
Hilton Hawaiian Village Luau – colorful brochure starring Al Harrington, again identified as Ben Kokua from TV’s Hawaii Five-O, together with the Hilton Hula Maids. Includes both English and Japanese text, period admission prices and luau information.
Kahala Hilton Hukilau – colorful illustrated brochure advertising the traditional Sunday evening fishing feast at the Hala Cove. Opens to include an advertisement for Hawaiian entertainer Danny Kaleikini and his nightly revue at the Kahala Hilton.
Waioli Tea Room, Manoa Valley – colorful fold-out brochure for the historic Salvation Army-operated Waioli Tea Room at 3016 Oahu Avenue. Includes numerous period photographs, map, restaurant and gift-shop information, history of the property, Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Little Grass Shack,” dining rooms and the Little Chapel.
All four are original vintage pieces, not reproductions.
Condition is very good overall for age with varying light toning, handling wear, minor edge/corner wear and occasional small marks or spots. Please examine photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
