Excellent unused condition Vintage 1970s Haunted Le Richelieu Hotel Matchbook – French Quarter, New Orleans
This is a near mint, unstruck 30-strike vintage matchbook from the historic Le Richelieu Hotel, located at 1234 Rue Chartres in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. The hotel opened in 1969 in a restored 19th-century building, and quickly became a landmark — not just for its charm and AAA Four Diamond rating, but for its haunted reputation.
Guests and staff over the decades have reported sightings of Spanish soldiers in full uniform, believed to be connected to an old military execution site. Another ghost, affectionately called “Ellen”, is said to tidy up rooms and occasionally appear in hallways.
