This is charming and authentic vintage 1970s mid-century modern batik fabric wall hanging / tapestry, purchased in Israel during the 1970s.Fabric Size: 34.5" x 19.5"Rods are 19"This whimsical piece features a playful, stylized boy/clown character in a classic retro pop art style. It features a rich, nostalgic color palette of rust-orange, marigold yellow, teal, and forest green. The background showcases the beautiful, intricate "crackle" effect that is highly characteristic of traditional hot-wax resist dye techniques.The piece is hand-signed in Hebrew near the bottom right: דליה (Dalia). It comes completely ready to hang, mounted on its original top and bottom dark wooden scroll rods.This is a wonderful, highly collectible piece of vintage Israeli studio craft, perfect for a mid-century nursery, children's room, or a collection of retro Judaica art.The wooden strips are fully intact, sturdy, and hold the fabric tautly.
