Holly Hobbie Metal Lunch Box 1981
Anything Holly Hobbie was all the rage in the 1970s and 80s. American Greetings had a hit with these precious graphics created by artist Holly Hobbie. She captured the innocence ofchildhood in her country charm style. Notonly were the rag dolls very popular, but the franchise branched out to includemany decorative pieces for display as well as practical items like paper goods, bedding, and lunch boxes.
As a collectible this item fits both categories: as a decorative display piece and can be a practical useable item as well.
This listing is for a very pretty metal lunch box that was made in the USA in 1981 by Aladdin Industries, Inc. It is standard-sized (approx. 8 x 7 x 3.75 in.) and in greatoverall condition with very little scratches or discolorations. The scratches are mainly from typical wear along the edges and corners. The latch works great and the handle isintact. The inside is very clean. There is no writing or personalization on the piece.
The only problem I see is that the thermos is missing. This would be a great item as a decorativeprop or backdrop for display with your Holly Hobbie doll collection. Then, the thermos isn’t really necessary. There were a few different Holly Hobbie scenes on the lunchboxes over the years. If you are into Holly Hobbie, it would be fun to get them all. The graphics are so very precious. There are several scenes presented on allsides of this piece.
