Authentic, collector-grade U.S. Military issue magnetic lensatic navigation compass manufactured by the highly regarded contractor Stocker & Yale, of Beverly, MA. This item features a distinct factory stamping date of September 18, 1984. This is a complete surplus rig, coming exactly as issued with its original olive drab canvas padded pouch (fitted with an Alice clip attached for belts or packs), and its integrated paracord lanyard. Key Features: NSN: 6605-01-196-6971; Contract #: DAAJ10-84-CA295; Tactical Build: Cast aluminum housing, liquid damped dial with copper induction system, dual scale readings (degrees and mils), integrated magnifying sighting lens, and fine sighting wire; Collectible Heritage: Known affectionately to military collectors as the "Sandy 183" variant, utilizing Tritium technology. The glass dial is entirely clear, the dial floats smoothly, and the mechanical hinge and sighting arm open and close properly; Condition: Beautiful vintage condition! The OD green painted aluminum chassis is incredibly clean with almost no edge wear, scratches or finish loss.   ***Please note: As is entirely normal for genuine 1980's surplus items, the original internal tritium has naturally decayed over the last 40+ years, meaning the dial no longer glows in the dark. Sold strictly as a collectible historical military artifact.***
