This is an original 1997 Now & Zen Progressive Awakening Alarm Clock, a unique mindfulness‑based timepiece designed to wake you gently with progressive chimes that increase in frequency over several minutes. These clocks were produced by Now & Zen, Inc., a Boulder, Colorado company that officially closed in January 2026, making authentic originals increasingly hard to find.
This clock is from my personal collection and has been loved and well cared for since 1997. It has been tested and still works perfectly. The wooden triangular body features the classic Zen aesthetic, and the chime mechanism still performs beautifully. Batteries will be included if still viable at time of sale.
Because it is nearly 30 years old, it\'s definitely vintage but shows only minor wear on the edges and corners, consistent with age and gentle use. The back panel is clean, the controls work properly, and the clock displays beautifully. I have attempted to show all imperfections but they are truly minimal. They can easily be touched up with a stain pen if perfection is your thing ;) There is no scratching to the wood panels. Some photos might appear that there are scratches, but that is either caused by reflection or it is just the unique grain in the wood.
A rare find for collectors of meditation tools, mindfulness devices, or unique vintage alarm clocks. If you have any questions, PLEASE don\'t be afraid to ask. I will be happy to answer any that you have, usually within 24 hours.
