This is not a standard mass-market release. This piece was a highly limited, custom commission designed exclusively for Ball Brothers Drug, a beloved local shop located at 504 Commercial in Atchison that has since closed its doors. Because this item was only ever sold physically at this single brick-and-mortar location long before the era of online shopping, it is an exceptionally hard-to-find piece for serious Cat's Meow collectors, and Kansas historians alike!
Architectural & Design Details
The front showcases the gorgeous architecture of the church, including Casper the traditional black cat sitting on the window sill. The back features a printed historical summary of the landmark:
Trinity Episcopal Church — Atchison, KansasTrinity Episcopal Church construction began in 1860. The first services were held in the church March 15, 1868. Originally, plans were to ship pine from the East but native black walnut was cheaper. Black walnut was used for all timbers, joists, beams and rafters.
