Direct correspondence with Mme Palmyre Gilles at the official Cuivres d'Art Albert Gilles Studio & Museum in Quebec confirms that this specific vintage piece features original cold-enamel work completely painted by hand by Violet Vincent Gilles (the first wife of Albert Gilles).
While the family studio still produces this iconic pattern today for nearly $3,000+, this particular item is a coveted vintage original featuring the elite craftsmanship of the studio’s founding generation.
