Vintage American Legion Annin Reliance Cotton Bunting 3 x 9 ft Gold Fringe For Sale

Vintage patriotic bunting drape with the American Legion emblem, made by Annin. The sewn woven label reads The Name Annin Guarantees Quality, Reliance, Cotton Sheeting, Defiance Fast Colors, and the white canvas heading is marked 3' x 9'. The center panel carries the printed gold American Legion emblem on blue, with the star, US shield, laurel wreaths, and a copyright mark, and the emblem shows through in reverse on the back. Alternating pointed panels of red, white, and blue extend to each side, all trimmed with twisted gold fringe. Brass grommets along the heading. The label style suggests mid twentieth century. Condition: used, with the honest age patina of a piece that has been hung and stored. The whites show yellow toning and light spotting, the blue is mottled with uneven fade, and there are a few small marks on the red. The fringe is intact with a few twisted or tangled strands, and there are light fold creases. Seams and heading are intact, with no tears or holes visible.
