Vintage American Red Cross National Blood Program Volunteer uniform consisting of a matching blue-gray tailored jacket and skirt.
This exceptional uniform retains numerous original details, including the embroidered AMERICAN RED CROSS VOLUNTEER shoulder patch and separate NATIONAL BLOOD PROGRAM rocker.
The jacket features four red embroidered service chevrons on the sleeve, original buttons embossed AMERICAN RED CROSS surrounding the Red Cross emblem, shoulder/epaulet insignia, tailored lapels, front pockets and full interior lining.
The original Howard Uniforms, Baltimore maker label remains sewn inside the jacket.
The matching skirt is constructed from the same blue-gray fabric, creating a complete two-piece uniform.
The American Red Cross established its civilian National Blood Program in 1948. Similar National Blood Program uniforms from this period are preserved in nursing and Red Cross historical collections. The exact date of this particular uniform has not been independently established.
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall for its age. The original patches, service chevrons, insignia, Red Cross buttons and maker label remain present. There is normal age-related wear consistent with an authentic vintage uniform. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition.
