Vintage Antique 1920s-1930s Beistle Halloween Silhouette Lantern
Item Description:
HAS ORIGINAL BASE! Up for sale is a rare, authentic antique 1920s–1930s Halloween 4-panel die-cut silhouette paper and cardboard lantern, manufactured by the Beistle Company. This classic holiday collectible features striking black silhouette panels, including a fantastic cackling witch profile, backed by its original vibrant orange tissue paper inserts.
Crucially, this lantern still includes its elusive, separate original cardboard bottom base insert, which is frequently missing from these surviving flat-fold pieces. The original thin wire hanging handle is also present at the top.
Condition Details:
* Structure: The lantern panels show structural wear, including distinct bending and warping along the cardboard sides from decades of storage. Please review the photos carefully to gauge the extent of the creasing.
* Tissue Inserts: The original orange tissue paper backing is present, but there are some hairline tears to the tissue (please review the specific detail photos). I have included photos of what tea lights look like in the lantern.
* Base: The separate floor base piece is included but shows wear consistent with age and vintage assembly.
* Overall: This item is being sold in honest, untouched antique condition. No attempts have been made to flatten, repair, or alter the brittle cardboard, preserving its historical integrity for its next collector.
An exceptional, highly displayable piece of early American Halloween history that would make a wonderful addition to any holiday collection!
Please see other sales, I have more vintage and rare Halloween decorations and will combine shipping for multiple items.
