Wonderful strong 1930’s WW2 Era Nurse dress. Two tiny holes see photos. Top half uses removable buttons, one cuff still has a button. Bottom half has tough strong snap closure.
Two key historical details pinpoint this exact era:
The Company Name: The manufacturing firm originally operated under different names like E.W. Marvin & Co., but officially incorporated as the Marvin-Neitzel Corporation in 1931. This places a firm starting limit on the uniform's age.
The "Sanforized Shrunk" text became highly prominent on durable cotton uniform labels during the 1930s and World War II era to guarantee that standard-issue nursing and military cotton wouldn't warp or shrink under harsh industrial laundering.
The typography, woven texture of the tag, and the raw cotton stitching heavily align with classic 1930s to mid-1940s production styles.
