Vintage Antique Russian Brass Samovar One-Light Table Lamp 19th Century *WORKS* .
Antique Russian samovar, identified by the various factory and technical control (OTK) marks stamped into the metal surface, are metal containers traditionally used to heat and boil water for tea and are a staple of Russian tea culture. The literal meaning of the word "samovar" in Russian is "self-boiler.”
The circular stamps contain Cyrillic text and symbols, likely indicating the manufacturer, location, and quality control stamps from the factory.
Believe this samovar dates back to late 1800s. Due to mineral sediments lining the inside, it was obviously used for a time as intended for tea. Unsure when converted to an electric lamp, but it works as it should as a table lamp. There are obvious signs of wear from use over the years with a few “dings” noticed (pictured.)
