Up for sale is a rare, beautifully preserved piece of American political history: an original tabletop Instructional Demonstration Model manufactured by the Automatic Voting Machine Corporation of Jamestown, New York.
During the mid-20th century, these portable units were placed at polling precincts or community centers. Poll workers used them to teach citizens exactly how to use the massive mechanical voting booths before they went behind the privacy curtains.
