Description
Beautiful vintage Bradford Novelty boxed set of four hand-decorated glass Christmas ornaments, made in Mexico.
These unusual ornaments have a dramatic elongated finial-style form combining a large silvered glass ball with sculptural pointed sections. They are richly decorated in turquoise/teal, green, red, silver, white and gold, with hand-painted detailing and textured gold glitter starburst designs.
The ornaments have wonderful Mid-Century Modern / retro Christmas styling and are considerably more elaborate than standard round Bradford ornaments.
Each ornament measures approximately 4 inches long.
The set comes in its original Bradford display box, which is marked:
BRADFORD’S IMPORTED HAND DECORATED GLASS
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
GLASS ORNAMENTS
MADE IN MEXICO FOR BRADFORD NOVELTY CO., INC., BOSTON, MASS.
An especially nice detail: two of the four ornaments retain their original East Bay Nursery retail tags showing a price of $1.25 each. These vintage retailer tags are still tied to the ornaments and add wonderful provenance and character to the set.
Includes:
4 vintage Bradford glass ornaments
Original Bradford display box
2 original East Bay Nursery retail tags
The ornaments display beautifully as a matched group and would make an excellent addition to a collection of vintage Bradford, Mexican glass, MCM, atomic-era or retro Christmas ornaments.
Vintage pre-owned condition. Minor age-related wear is present, including some surface/finish wear, glitter loss and oxidation/wear to the hanging hardware. The original box has age and storage wear. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
